The Sky Walker Flight School Football Camp, created by former NFL Quarterback and Howard University graduate Jay “Sky” Walker in 1998, is a free skills camp staffed by current and former NFL players and coaches. The two-day, non-contact camp is offered to students ages 14-18 to raise their level of competition by enhancing skills and sportsmanship. The Sky Walker Flight School is in its ninth year in Prince George’s County, MD. The camp is premised on the belief that fundamental life-lessons, learned through sportsmanship, lead to success on and off the field.

This year, in addition to the camp, we will provide a two day SAT test prep course for student athletes. The Sky Walker Flight School is able to provide all these free services to youths because of the donated time of NFL athletes and coaches, as well as funds raised by activities such as the Annual Sky Walker Evening of Entertainment and Annual Sky Walker Celebrity Golf Tournament.

Through the years, nearly 850 DC metropolitan-area children have learned drills and one-on-one technique enhancements by men who have reached the pinnacle of the game. Additionally, several community leaders, including Maryland Congressman Al Wynn, Prince George’s County Executive Jack Johnson, as well as author and Head Coach of the 2001 Super Bowl Champion Baltimore Ravens, Brian Billick, have come to the camp to inspire the campers through motivational talks and activities.
